Hard draw copper wire is very tough and robust. I use 18g lamp safety wire. This is the thin copper wire that servers as a safety ground and as a safety wire in case a link in the lamp chain breaks in hanging chandeliers. I have 50' of thin braided copper wire from Home Depot that's been under constant tension for 6 years 9 months. Enough tension to deflect the top of a 20' support (two fence rails, a spike base and a building clamp at 9') 2 to 3 inches. |
