I have a 4kHz one in my R5000 (compatible with the TS-430). I prefer that to
the Kenwood high qaulity 6kHz one.

My 430 has the filter so I can't test it, but if you look on the mods pages
you find a way of twisting knobs to get it to work without a filter.

You could also try the ts-430 yahoo group.
