950sdx adjust menu
Is anyone familiar with the adjust mode in the service manual for the
950sdx? My I.F. VBT is way off. I got to the adjust mode, menu 6 as it indicates, get a reading of 90 or so at center-but must go fully clockwise in order to pass the cw signal. (230 or so) I cant understand what they mean in the manual about "how" to adjust the setting and save it. It seems gibberish to me. I cant hear any cw signals through my 500 Hz 8.83 filter unless I move the I.F. VBT fully clockwise. Any help would be appreciated, Please note new email address Mark K8VF |
Hi, all concerned:
Could this be a "-1"-filter-suffix vs " "-filter-suffix problem, ie, differing center frequencies? Eg, the '440 had a YK88CN and the '850 had a YK88CN-1, differing by a half-KHz or so in c-f and having the same b-w. 73, Dave, N3HE "k8vf" wrote in message oups.com... Not this time.
Thanks for the interest. Mark David J Windisch wrote: Hi, all concerned: Could this be a "-1"-filter-suffix vs " "-filter-suffix problem, ie, differing center frequencies? I got the adjust info from a good hearted Ham......no change.
Does anyone know which V.R. to adjust to center the VBT pot? I am looking for it in the service manual, but not having much success. |
I got a better copy of the schematic. It appears all is digital in the
adjustment of this control. Perhaps I am missing something. When using 2.7 or 1.8 kHz filters in CW mode, I still have to turn I.F.VBT way to the right to get full strength cw signals. When I add 500Hz filter, it MUST be within one or two clicks to hear anything...just what I would expect. Anyone have any ideas or insight as to what my brain is not comprehending here? All is appreciated. Mark |
