Wanted: Impossible Dream? Heath Kit

Ok, everyone who reads this post will say, I'm crazy. I have to ask for that
,Impossible Dream. I am looking for any one of these Heath Kit, DX 35 , DX
40 or DX 60. In the box, never built, tucked away and forgotten for years.
I am hoping that someone can make my dream come true. Please email if you
can.

Nice rigs- had one myself as a novice. Hope you have deep pockets.
Something like this on EBay would fetch over a kilobuck.

I am always amazed at how much someone will pay for an unbuilt Heathkit
when a built one goes for a pittance. If you put it together, it is
worthless! It is a case of wanting your cake and eating it too.

Not me. I would dearly love to find an unbuilt Johnson Ranger II. I
would build it just to be able to use it. I wouldn't care what it did
to the value. However, if there was one somewhere, I know the cost
would be completely out of sight. So it's just a dream.

I had a chance back in the 80's to buy a Ranger II that was factory
built, and absolutely mint. Guy wanted $100 at a swap meet. I didn't
buy it and have been kicking myself ever since.

Hi Dick,
You could take my approach. I have a Johnson Navigator in fair condition. I
am 100% disassembling it- rebuilding the wire harness out of teflon,
replacing all the screw with stainless, glass bead etching the chassis, silk
screening the frot panel ( the right way- Johnson has the worst paint jobs
of any boatanchors)- and then having the fun of assembling a one of a kind
rig.
