Find aVE in your Area.
Tech PLUS ( someone who was a 5 WPM morse Novice who upgraded to Tech by
taking the General class test), only needs to do some paperwork at a VE test
session.

Show up at some event (club meeting/hamfest/a pre-announced gathering)
that has made it clear that Volunteer Examiners will be giving tests to
those who wish to upgrade on XX date. Bring a copy of your license plus
the original, bring the fee for testing/don't forget your birth
certificate and picture ID card. Study. Good luck.

If you received your Technician license prior to 1987 (I think the cutoff
data is sometime in April 1997), then all you have to do is bring proof of
that to a VE test session, fill out the upgrade application, pay the
processing fee and that's it.

If you received your Tech Plus (at times called Tech with code instead of
Tech Plus) between 1987 and the restructuring of April 2000, you will need
to bring proof of that to a VE test session, pay the fee, take and pass the
General written test, and fill out the upgrade application.

If you received your Tech with code after the cutoff date in April 2000 and
your code CSCE is more than a year old, you will have to take and pass the
code again and take and pass the General written. If your code CSCE is less
than a year old, you will only have to take the General written. Of course
you will need to have the original and a copy of the CSCE.

For all paper work, take both the original and a copy. The VE team will
need to have the copy to attach to the paperwork filed with the VEC.
