FS/FT Averatec 5400 Athlon 64 1.6 2800+ Laptop

Averatec 5400 Athlon 64 1.6 2800+ 512 DVD Burner Win XP Laptop
It has a AMD Athlon 64 XP-M 2800+ processor 1.6Ghz 40gb hard drive
512mb of ram
15 inch LCD with no dead pixels
a DVD-RW / CD-RW burner
Lithium ion battery
a second monitor port
4 USB 2.0 ports
a PC Card slot
a 56K modem built in
10/100mbps wired ethernet nic built in
the Windows XP home restore disks
a LiteOn 115 ac power supply
It needs to be taken apart and have some heat grease put between the
processor and heatsink. When it gets hot it shuts off, checked AMD Processor

would make someone who is into laptops a good one. make me an offer loot or
trade what do you have? I figure value to be 4 to 500 bucks. There are some
on ebay listed for over 700.00
Thanks for looking.

I only use Intel with Intel chipsets.
An AMD is like a Honda with a big exhaust tip and yellow pinstripes.

That's sad.

An AMD is like a Honda with a big exhaust tip and yellow pinstripes.

What are you using for a processor? Speed, etc.

Typical blanket statement that has little merit or meaning. Just
personal preference.

oh please, AMD is every bit as fast as an Intel (of the same type of
course) and not a rip off.
Intel is way overpriced, but if you like the "so-called" brand name, be
my guest.

I have several machines that I have built with both processors.

#1 Intel chipsets suck. No overclock-ability at all. What is Intel scared of?

#2 All the AMD machines I have built have out performed the Intels at the same rating.

#3 Throwing clock speed at a product is not the answer. Intel just recently learned this. AMD was the teacher.
