FT-897
I am getting older and the 940 is getting heavier ..... looking at the 897
for FD use and as a backup .... I did check e-ham and the related comments which would probably fit essentially all the equipment out there .....My primary concern is if the 897 is an acceptable plus CW radio ..... I don't really care about the SSB attributes or deficits. Now don't say the K-2 with 100 watt amp as I built a K-2 and don't have the time at present to pursue another build ......although I really like that rig ..... Thanks in advance to all . Why not a used K2 or pre-built? Good idea ..... But I am always a little gun-shy about used rigs ..... I still have my Eico 723 that I still use that I built in 65 .... The used rigs I have bought always worked except for ........... which invariably meant my butt was on the stool at the bench. Pre-built ...sort of the same game ..... Oh well .... Thanks J man .... 73 Tom KI3R |
