On wifi 2.4GHZ transceivers they require to be FCC certified:

Are vendors required to supply FCC numbers by law to inquiring
customers?

Are radios that have been modified such as placed in an enclosure with
antenna required to be recertified by law?

What is the real-world policy of the FCC on the above two questions?

FCC ID the number needed to determine IF in fact radio has been
certified. It is required to be placed visible on the radio, but are
vendors required to supply the number on request?

But if a company modifies the radio including addition of high power
antenna, it has to be recertified AFAIU.
