Motorola STX 821

I have a Motorola STX 821 and can't get a system key to program, but my boss has one and I uploaded the program to my laptop and it will not let me download saying that it can not to a older version, I can not even save the info on disk, it keeps saying that file name is bad, Please correct it, and I tried and can't get it to save the file for later. It's on a older 166mhz laptop and the software works good.
Can anyone help me?
