There are new Kenwood radios in the pipeline. The TM-V71 is already
released, the TM-D710 will be soon with us. New HF radios are also on
the new product list, as is a replacement for the TH-D7 handy 2m/70cms
TRX. All the new radios have to be RoHS compliant initially for Europe,
but eventually World-wide sales. So all the new ones are made to be
compliant, this has meant some delay in new radios. They have quite a
small development team for Amateur Radio. Kenwood US have issued a
statement about their Amateur Radio products, as rumours of a pull out
from this sector have been around. Basically they are committed to
continue in this sector.
