The Mandatory International Morse Requierment is to Cease

Or, to stop DXCC degenerating into a bigger CBer's farce
than it is already, to refuse to accept QSL cards when one of the
participants in a QSO has not passed after being so tested.

It night be interesting to lobby the FCC in the direction
of proscribing any Yank Ham from QSOing on HF with
licensees who have not passed a Morse test at least as fast
as 5 WPM.

Whichever is the case, the remedy to guarantee that Ham Radio
remains the preserve of Radio Hams and not as CBers-masquerading-
-as-Radio-Hams is to increase the proportion of CW QSO's, to refuse anything
other than CW for DXCC, and for all contests to become CW.

By this means, all those who spent their time whingeing rather than
proving their devotion to Ham Radio will be forced to learn CW at
a respectable WPM rate anyway.

Whatever the Irrelevancies, sorry, Governments, of the world will
decide to impose as the licensing conditions of Ham Radio, what is Ham Radio
itself will be determined by Radio Hams.

We have it in our power to decide who have qualified and are welcome as
Radio Hams,
and who are just CBers, although they may be masquerading with a licence.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO STOP THE ROT.

And how are they going to tell? Those who pass December's RAE
will be issued with M0 calls.
Andy, M1EBV/M3ABC

And just where did you get that snippet of info from???
According to the guy I spoke to at the radio licencing centre, in the

event
of the A + B's merging they will continue to issue M1 callsigns until

they
run out :)

Several schemes have been considered but last Monday I was told by the RA
that the decision is that, after the active date, all new licenses will be
M0s (or 2E0s for the IL).

What an excellent idea. All contests to become morse only, that will keep me
happy.
