Help Please: LCD Display Problem
 

Sounds like your back light isn't lit. So the only thing lighting the
display is ambient light which doesn't work to good.

I have an old Icom IC2-sra that has a display problem. It came back
from the shop a while ago. Now when the display is viewed directly it
is totally blank. The only way I can see information is to tilt the
rig about 45 degrees either up or down and then the numbers appear.
