Latest Version of CWPlayer
The lastest version of Gabe Riviats' CW Player is now available in the
form of Version 2.7.2 For those not familiar with this software, it is a CW traing package using the Koch method, which is considered by most to be the best way to learn. This latest version allows for the choice of letter/word groups to be from 2 to 8 characters in length, rather than the tradional 5 letter sending groups. Although not intended to be a CW decoder, very strong and well sent signals can be copied from an HF rig quite well. W1AW is an example. It now supports 4 languages with English being the default. One of the very best CW programs to be found and it is FREEWARE! It can be found at: http://perso.club-internet.fr/f1orl/programe.htm I think you'll like it. de WA2AFD |
Works pretty good, but let me give a piece of advice. When a wave is played,
it should begin at the start of the sinusoide, as well as end. If a wave is cut off at it's maximum, or any non-zero value, there appear some higher frequency distortions, heard as clicks at the end of an element (dash or dot). I have spotted this effect in some other CW-programs, only one of them, by G4FON, generated clear, clicks-free CW signals. Try using not a pure sinusoide, but rather a harmonics-rich signal, however avoiding a square wave (a distorted sinusoide would do). Cheers, -- Pawel Stobinski SQ9NRY Republic of Poland |
