10/11 meter DX, now in season!

Um, 10 meters is dead till the next sunspot cycle. Sooooo, who cares?

10 meters just had several openings. Welcome to the winter conditions.

HMMMM, I'm listening to fast CW right now!! Doesn't sound "dead" to
me..............

Right after talking to Texas on 11 meters, I caught up to a buddy on 2 meters
and told him of the conditions. He also could hear beacons from Texas on 10.

If 10 is dead, it's only because no one is trying.

Yes even at the bottom of the sunspot cycle, the flux can often be just high
enough for 10 to open up for a while each day. Also sporadic E can occur
at any time day or night regardless of where we are in the sunspot cycle.
So it is worthwhile to check it out. Call CQ and see if you get a response.
A lot of people may be just too shy to call it themselves but are just
waiting to answer a call.

Check the beacons but even if you can't hear the beacons, there may still be
limited openings to certain areas just not to the source of the beacons.
