I am thinking about organizing a kind of dx expedition in an African
country.
What do I need to do in order to make my expedition valid for dxcc? Do
I need any particular document? Do I need to ask for ARRL approval?

I'm not being a smarta$$ here, just stating a fact: since the DXCC is an
ARRL award, and since the documentation requirements are established by
the ARRL, the place to look for that information is www.arrl.org.
