Alright people, knock off the childsplay. The "call" channel refers to a
feature on the radio. Usually on 2 meters its 146.525 I think, and I cannot remember 70cm. Anyway, once this particular frequency is programmed into the "call channel" you are able to access it normally at the push of one button. Most mfg., already have this programmed for the national calling frequency for each band. Some people will meet up on a repeater and say, 'hey, lets go simplex and meet up on the call channel.' then all's you have to do is hit that one button, and your all set. Good luck! Mike KC2JGA "Incognito" wrote in message news:_u55c.15440$Nj.11884@fed1read01... In general depending on the manufacturer, the call channel will open up even if you are on another memory. That allows your buddy to call you when you are not monitoring the agreed on channel (the call channel) -- Incognito By Necessity (:-( If you can't convince them, confuse them. - - -Harry S Truman |
