Reducing IC28H power output

Hi all!
I would like to know the proceedings to reduce the maximum power
output of the ICOM IC28H transceiver. I know that it has two levels of
power output: 5W and 45W. I'd like to reduce the maximum power output
to 20W or 25W (22W would be the best!). Someone told me that this kind
of equipment has an internal adjustment for this kind of work.

Could anyone help me?

Suggest you get hold of the radio's service manual. Shouldn't be
too expensive.

Take care, though. RF amps tend to do funny things, spurious-wise,
if you reduce their output power too far below the design level. You
should check the radio's output with a spectrum analyzer after you do
the tweaks you describe.

If you don't have a SpecAn, get access to one somehow. You really
don't want to run the modified radio without making sure its spurs are
still down where they should be.
