Power pole connectors

QST:

Where can I find a reference to the accepted standard for using the 30-A
power-pole connectors? It would seem you could slide the red one and the black
one together in two ways. Which is considered to be the universal standard for
emergency use?

I'm getting rid of the previous universal standard Molex connectors.

There are several ways to put them together. Here is a picture of the
standard.

NOTE: The radio connector-pair and the source connector-pair are IDENTICAL.
This was done to allow connecting a lead acid battery to a 13.7V source for
float charging (or a higher voltage for regular charging - assuming the
proper procedures are followed). It also allows connecting two power
sources of any kind together which can be a problem

In addition, it allows you to connect two radios together - makes no sense,
but can be done and won't cause problems.

Look at the arrangement on the West Mountain Radio "RigRunner" units:

Everyone else seems to use the same arrangement, as far as I can see.
