Special event station 1944/2004
Hi all
TM6OLH will be on the air from 5th sept to 19th sept 2004 to commemorate the Liberation of LE HAVRE (Normandy FRANCE) on 12th september 1994 by the british troops. 60 years in the past, LE HAVRE was liberate after strong fightings around "Festung Le Havre" LE HAVRE (fortified town LE HAVRE) . 80% of the City was destroyed by airplain bombing and 2500 people died on 5th and 6th sept 1944. The special event station will be active in a british camp reconstitution on 11th of september 2004. We will transmit on HF, phone, CW, SSTV and Hellschreiber mode. Please, watch 20m and around. On 12th sept 04, two convoys of old WW2 vehicles will drive in LE HAVRE by two different routes (North East and East) like in 1944. We expect two tanks, a Paton and a Churchill armoured vehicles. Photo pictures of this event will be sent in SSTV the days after. Thanks for your attention and receive our best regards. But not in this part of Normandy : Brits and canadians were around Le Havre, the US troops in the eastern area of Paris running to the german border and Ardennes...
