Is there anyway to convert this amp to run in 6m? I know im probably
asking a stupid question but i want to get back into radio with a
simple vx-5r . I figured if I could get this amp to do 6m it would
allow me to work a few repeaters from pretty much anywhere on my
commutes. If not, any ideas for a economical amp that would do say
50-100 watts?
Thanks a bunch.

most repeaters use rather low power - so you only need low power to contact
one.
usually if you can hear it - you can break its squelch with 25 watts or
less.
(the antenna is the magic ingreedient)
