Did you get into it only for 40 Meters? Because 40 is the only band
where you run into the problem to the degree that it might be
difficult to operate. And you never run into that problem on 30 or 80.


With the recenty thunderstorms which moved through the area QRN is very
high on 80, about S9. On most nights my 80 meter noise level is S1 at
most.....

My antenna doesn't work very well on 30 meters, got to put something
else up for 30 meters. Currently using a W5GI Mystery Ant
(www.w5gi.com) and it does well on most bands but not 30 Meters.
