Simply put, Amateur Radio has become terribly boring. CB radio may
have its share of occasional light hearted moments, but the real excitement and thrill of the magic of radio has certainly disappeared due to various factors of which we are all most familiar. For those of you who are searching for the excitement and thrill you once experienced when you first discovered the mystical allure of radio communication, there's a place where you just might find for what you've long been searching. Let me invite you to check out and ultimately join: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/all-ba...es_and_outlaws This group is specifically designed to provide bored Amateur Radio Operators, CB'ers, Pirate Broadcasters, Commercial Radio Station owners, engineers, on-air talent, RF Technicians, Shortwave Listeners, Legal-Beagles, Newbies and non-techies a place where one can regain a sense of wonder at the sheer exploration of what we like to refer to as "Phunny Phreekin'cies". Modify your radios, put 'em on phreekin'cies on which they were not intended to operate, and enjoy a little harmless game of "cat & mouse". We've done and are doing the exhaustive research as to what operating phreekin'cies are not going to cause any disruption of official, life-dependant traffic. Our first and foremost concern is that we do not jeopardize existing services and their operations. Fellow bootleggers, there are TONS of phreekin'cies just waiting to be populated by a bunch of fun-loving renegades and radio outlaws! Remember, the 11 meter freeband is again taking it's cyclical demise, so we have to go "where the weather suits our clothes", so to speak. Right now, we're playing around with 6.800 MHz LSB and 13.555 MHz USB (the 45 meter and 22 meter bands respectively). So what are you waiting for? When you finish listening to your favorite Pirate Broadcaster on 6.925 MHz or thereabouts, QSY to the chit-chat channel of 6.800 and discuss the programming you've just heard. Or get on and call CQ and see who comes back! Please join us at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/all-ba...es_and_outlaws ....and put a little fun back into your two radio operations before your radios become homes for mice, insects, and various genus of mold. 73 -- ~Sparky~ Often imitated -- NEVER duplicated. Sparky -- AM/FM/SSB/CW from the ol' Cornpatch Mobile: KALL-2671 -- CB Radio; Unit 412/RF412/CO3026 -- Freeband 26-28MHz; Radio Outlaw 412 -- 6.800 LSB & 13.555 USB; W9*** -- Amateur (Ham) Radio; WQRM313 -- GMRS; M/V Mysterious Traveller -- Marine; plus FRS, MURS, Shortwave... in other words DC to Daylight. ....got frequencies? ...got phun phreekin'cies? Bored with amateur radio???
Spice up your life with an exciting visit from the FCC and various other federal authorities. For the small price of a several thousand dollar fine you may also get a very long stay in one of several luxurious federal prisons "meals are included". During your stay you will not be bothered with that damn old boring amateur radio! Ace-WH2T "Sparky" wrote in message oups.com... Simply put, Amateur Radio has become terribly boring. Poor, anal -retentive Acey. Why, I bet you dare not drive "willy
nilly" in empty parking lots, preferring instead to follow the lines and arrows with unquestioning obedience to their implicit directional instructions on the completely void-of-vehicles surfaces. What fun! But hey, if you enjoy playing with your expensive ham radio equipment to make meaningful contacts such as "Hi. My name is Ace. Your signal is 5 by 9. My radio is a Yaesuwood and my antenna is up there real high. Well, bye for now, and I hope we can again exchange similarly meaningful intercourse in the near future. This is WH2T signing off." How exciting, and more power to you, Acey. Maybe after repeating that scenario in seemingly endless occurrences for several decades, you may find yourself searching for some different excitement that takes you slightly off the beaten path that actually allows you to - oh my! - think for yourself. But wait. Those "paved surfaces" are without directive lines. Never mind. 73 -- ~Sparky~ ------------------------- Often imitated -- NEVER duplicated! Sure hope this kid finds something useful to do with his time. Doesn't look

Hiya OT,
What a compliment! I haven't been called a "kid" since, well, I was a kid. As an "Old Timer" myself (QCWA for a LONG, LONG time), and, in case you're interested, a high-speed CW operator (no computer needed, thankyouverymuch), a member of the beloved (please bow down now) ARRL for so many years I can't seem to remember (see, I AM OLD), you can plainly see I hardly qualify as a "kid". I may act like one, but for those of you whose age causes you to lose your "childlike love of life", I feel truly sorry for you. A "troll" I am not. Troll this, my friend. Listen for me on 6.800 MHz LSB, 13.555 MHz USB, or any of the other "naughty" 11 meter frequencies we so often refer to as "freeband". Oh yeah... you'll find me on 30 and 40 meter CW, too. But you'll have to guess the callsign. I may not be a "troll", but I ain't stupid. Wanna play "Let's Compare Our Experiences and Licence Class" game? I didn't think so. TTFN 73 -- ~Sparky~ P.S. Next time, (apparently you're new to Usenet) please stay with the original message's title so it's easier to follow the threads. That, OT, is offered at no charge. Too bad - seems you don't have much time left to do it. A "troll" I am not. You are just pulling chains, Volts - that's a "troll"! ---, but I ain't stupid. Mighty difficult to believe. Wanna play "Let's Compare Our Experiences and License Class" game? It's not a game. But the license is a requirement - except for outlaws, I suppose. I passed the Extra Class exam back when the "reward" was just the same as a General class license, and the 1st Class Commercial was passed when I thought communications might be an interesting career. I didn't think so. Now the big question is - do you really "think"? OT |
