Anyone play in the WPX contest this weekend?

Conditions were outstanding on Friday. The A and K index were the lowest I
have ever seen. It was so quiet I could hear signals coming from E and W at
the same time. Amazing. Thats what ya get when you run a simple vertical
loop like me.

I managed 423 Qso's and 324 mults in 12 hours.

Yup sure did but I didn't have much time so ended up with 50 QSOs and 48
multipliers.

For me, the highlight was getting New Zealand on 40 meters (100 watts into
multi-band ground mounted vertical). Yahoo!

Other antennas used: Antron 99 vertical, G5RV in a horizontal V
configuration, and 80 meter skyloop. The latter also worked very well on
15m actually.

Know how that goes. We got lucky this weekend. No family doings in the
way, no bad weather and great conditions for the most part. I worked 20m
CW ONLY. Didn't even listen on any other band.

I worked most of the weekend using 100W into an L-shaped dipole (~16ft of
wire hung from a tree, plus 16ft laid on the ground) for 20m (and above),
plus a 40m dipole (at about 6m agl). Managed 821 QSOs and over 400
mults...I thought the conditions were pretty good for a change.

Excellent show John. I worked several G's but don't think you were one of
em. Yes band was in great shape.

I used to operate from Germany back in the 70s and did some contesting back
then. Really do understand how it is over there in a major contest. Had a
lot more stamina back then too. hi.
