Hmmm...good question. Don't know if there is a web site where you can go
look.
The manual has details on how to use the VOR capabilities. Essentially, you
can
select any VOR frequency (I think ILS too) and get course/bearing info, as
well
as a CDI indication if desired. The range of the VOR capability is very
limited.
I would not expect to do any real world navigation with it, but as a backup,
it
could be indispensable (if everything else crapped out). The VOR was an
added
bonus for me as I use a yoke mounted GPS (in addition to the VOR receivers
in
the plane and a Loran). So I really bought it for the backup voice
capabilities.
Also nice for getting ATIS/AWOS, clearances, FBOs, etc., while sitting on
the
ground.

It is definitely a transceiver on the aircraft band. I fly and carry it
as a
backup in the plane. Also has a backup VOR (navigation) capability
as well as FM radio. Nice piece of gear for a pilot. Plus, as was
mentioned earlier, it has 2m capabilities. Pretty cool.

Is there anywhere I can see more detail of the VOR capabilities?
I looked over the web site but it doesn't really show what it
can do in that function.
