FCC rules need to be changed
 

The Federal Communication Commissions (FCC) needs to changed the
amateur radio rules to allow a more flexable in regards to allow
amateurs the
ability to experiment, and remove rules that are outdated.

(a) No amateur station shall transmit:

(5) Communications, on a regular basis, which could reasonably be
furnished alternatively through other radio services.

But old Toad ain't caught up with his odol, the REAL professional Ham type

radio operator slash jammer who has been made to retest. Once that happens
old Toad will be finding hisself a little bungalow down yonder in Glendale,
too.

That needs to remain in place, Todd. It was put in force to prevent
amateurs from utilizing the ham bands for commercial purposes, and
to prevent the amateur service from unfairly competing with commercial
services. Without that rule, those providing such services would
have every right to file grievances with the FCC.

Also, without that rule, there would be more congestion on the ham
bands.

amateurs from utilizing the ham bands for commercial purposes, and
to prevent the amateur service from unfairly competing with commercial
services. Without that rule, those providing such services would
have every right to file grievances with the FCC.
Also, without that rule, there would be more congestion on the ham
bands.


It really not the matter of removing th rule, the problem is that the
vast majority of things that amateurs can do can be done through
alternative radio service. As for the commercial service, the FCC and
congress is giving them a HUGE chunk of spectrum of what was the old TV
spectrum So I wouldn't really worry about them.
