It should not be impossible to get a 100$ FPGA board, generate a VGA display,
use a 100MHz flash DC and have 100MHz logic analiser / digital storage scope
for little more then that plus the price of the probe and a few discrete
components.

With respect to "what can you measure", do some searching on mixing RF
signals down to baseband, for example, to look at 9 MHz crystal filter
performance. There have been numerous threads on Yahoo groups lately
on that, so you should be able to find some info.

Hmmm..now you have me thinking about what can be done with this "bush
league" test equipment and a downconverter....I'm thinking perhaps
two-tone intermodulation tests on RF amplifers....Cleverscope does have
a spectrum analyzer....

analyzer, audio signal generator, voltmeter etc. Scope has zoom,
trigger, calibrate, screen capture and more.
