Anyone used the SA607 or SA608 chips?

There is surprising little anecdotal information on the web/usenet
about the SA607 or SA608 receiver chips. These are similar to the
SA605, but run from 2.7-7.0V and have buffered limited output and
RSSI's. Has anyone use either of these chips? And if so, can they tell
me:

1) How does the SA607/8 performance compared to the SA605 when both
are run from a 5V supply? The datasheets show the SA607/8 performing
worse (SINAD of -117dBm as opposed to -120dBm for the SA605), but
'07/8 are running from 3V while the '05 is running from 6V so it is
not a fair comparison.

2) The only difference between the SA607 and SA608 is the later
exposes the RSSI buffer amplifier feedback. What it the point of
making two different products just for this reason? Is it used to
adjust the gain (but this is a buffer amplifier?!)

3) Can anyone tell me what the output looks like of the SA607/8 at pin
9 or 11 (limiter output), meaning, the minimum and maximum voltagea of
the 455kHz square wave when there is a strong RF signal output?

It amazes me that about seven analog receiver chips in the SA line are
still offered by Phillips (and in-stock at Digikey no less) where so
many other companies have discontinued theirs.
