I vaguely remember Motorola's odd, short-lived line of linear devices back in the 60s or 70s.. MFCxxx rings a bell. They had attenuators, oddball audio amps. I think there were some six pin devices, but they were also an offset lead package. Pete |

They seemed for much intended for consumer equipment, and it seemed like they tried to fit the package to the device, rather than have something like a 14 pin package and have everything fit in it no matter how few pins they actually needed. I think some of the line included dividers that would run off 12v, intended for music organs. I honestly did not include those in my "there must be exceptions". I'm not sure now if I put that in just to be sure, or I was thinking of something (that I can't remember at the moment) that do come in 6pin DIPs. Michael VE2BVW |
