In all likelihood he doesn't know a thing about radios and figured he'd start
high and just work his way down: In all likelihood, those items won't sell and
in a week or two he'll drop the prices, say, $20. He'll repeat that until
they're sold...

I've seen sellers like that take a more perverse course; if they don't sell, he'll
up the prices a bit and inevitably there will be a buyer who feels pressured and
bites or in the alternative if they fail to sell, they will be unceremoniously
scrapped.
