I have no special thoughts on Usenet actually, I just find that Yahoo makes
life harder for me, not easier. Like water, I find it hard to go uphill. :)

There's another possible shot at getting SSB out of it, being offset tuning
in conjunction with the DSP filters.

There's a military weather service I can hear here in Bristol, with a speech
synthesiser voice, a sort of female American mezzo-soprano pitch and timbre.
On an AOR AR-3000 tuned to 5.4506 MHz USB it is clear, while the Tecsun PL-
390gets it best on 5.452 MHz with the filter set to 2KHz. It's not easy or
fun to listen to, but it is legible.
