One of the best reference books for just about everything
dealing in electronics, is an older copy of the ARRL, Amateur
Radio Handbook. The older ones are the best as far as I am concerned.
Try used book stores, amateur radio flea markets etc. Hardly a day
goes
by that I am not looking up something in one of the 5 that I have.

Also look on ebay. I've bought several there (all the way back
to a 1937 edition) for very little money.

Have a look at

http://www.part15.org/mwa/tech/circuits/poppet.html

Although for 160m, it is easy to retune it for 80m. I've just built one
without any real problems. Low power, but I'm now working on the linear!
