VOX on TS-140

There's a vox jack on the back of the TS-140.
Is there a vox circuit in that tcvr? If so, what do I have to do to get it
working?
If not so, what can I do to get one rigged up?
I want to do hands free ssb.
Thanks

Track down a manual as this will tell you what you need to know to hook it
up, adjust it, and use it. For manuals, try Manualman or W7FG. They make
good quality reproductions of vintage manuals.

IMHO... a footswitch is a much better way to do hands-free SSB.

As I recall, based on owning the TS680S some years back, the 140 does
indeed have VOX. The 680 did not since it replaced the switch to use
VOX mode with the preamp switch.
I think that the VOX mode switch is one of the small controls at the
lower left of the front panel. The standard VOX controls (not jack) for
gain, anti-VOX and delay should be on the back panel.

Thanks for the info. Your response implies that everything I need is already
on the TS-140. There is also some kind of VOX switch (I guess) on the front
panel along with the jack in the back. Therefore, I guess, all I've to do is
plug in the mic to the jack in the back and I'll be good to go?
The manual just mentions these features, but it doesn't go into any details.

Thanks and 73,

Thanks for the info. I've thought of using a foot switch, but the notion
doesn't appeal to me. Apparently, all I've to do is plug in a mic to the jack
in the back and hit the switch on the front panel to activate the VOX. I hope
this is so. All along I thought I needed additional circuits for the VOX.
