Feom the 1975 Amatueur,s handbook Trying to combine receiver and
transmitter into one unit, both use RCA CA3046 IC for VFO, ideas for
substitution and for improvements? Watn to combine both into one
unit?

Seems like it could be a decent QRP rig?

Getting a spellchecker going on your system might be a good start.

You may find it a bit of a challenge to get hold of CA3046's. It
appears (from a Google search) that they're now made by Intersil

FWIW, that IC is nothing more than an NPN transistor array. You
may be able to sub discrete components.

Ooooh! Ouch!! I've had that happen a time or two. Isn't it amazing
how such normally placid critters have such sharp pins built in?
