Fluke 27 display problem

My Fluke 27's display is having trouble with some of the segments. Is this a known
problem, and is there a solution for it other than sending it back to Fluke, which
I doubt it is worth.

cheers, Paul - VA7NT - email:

If it's a LCD display you might be able to fix it by opening the unit up ,
pulling out the lcd carefully and cleaning the contacts with a clean pencil
eraser.

I looked on the
www.fluke.com web site and it says the Fluke 27 has a
limited lifetime warranty. http://www.fluke.com/service/warranty.asp
Might do well to drop them an email with your meters serial number
and description of the problem. I had a Fluke 75 from my job repaired
over a year ago and it was still under warranty. The job owned it for
over 3 years before I got there.

had a similar problem with my Fluke 8020B, but the problem was caused
by insufficient pressure on some contacts, so I must cure it with some
extra paper inside to press the display towards the pcb
