I have more wires in my hand than my new rear light has connections for

that sort of problem

And who would know more about automobile electrical problems than the
British? :

"PM" (ex MGB owner)

A: They have Lucas refrigerators.

So they say - and with good reason. IME Lucas electrical components
are total *crap.*

On the other hand, it means that British sports cars have an excellent
safety record. Hard to have a crash when the car is up on a lift.

Not if the lift's switchgear is made by Lucas.

Yikes!

Hadn't thought of that.

One would think that a competitor would spring up.

Well, when your competition is Renault and Fiat, you can afford to be
sloppy!

It's tragic, really. With very few exceptions, the actual mechanical
engineering on British cars is typically of a very high standard. The
overall product, however, is let down by Lucas electrics (where used)
and not terribly good rust-prevention treatment (which is
unforgiveable in a climate like ours).
