The SATERN net has been reporting on conditions in various places, but H&W
traffic isn't going into the area yet as far as I can tell. (Shouldn't be a surprise if you think about it). However, if you go to www.satern.net there is a link at the bottom of the page to a form where you can inquire about an individual. Supposedly this is faster than sending a radiogram. However, if you want to try some traffic into the area and you don't know how to get into a local traffic net, you can check the ARRL website for section nets in your state, or you can try the ISSBN at 0100Z on 3.985. If you are a little rough on traffic procedures, the ISSBN may be a little more tolerant than a section net, depending on your particular section. If you are not an amateur, and the SATERN website doesn't look like the ticket, then Gary's advice is the best you will get. ... "Al" wrote in message ... Anyone doing contacts in Port Charlotte? I have a friend there who I can't reach. Any ideas on how this could be done? Al |
