Replacement Transistor

Does anyone have an idea what a suitable replacement would be for a
MPF102 transistor? The MPF102 comes in a TO92 case. I would like to
find a transistor that would sub with this but be in a surface mount
package. I've looked at quite a few places around the internet but
can't get one to cross exactly. If it's not a exact match, I guess I
could go with one with a little more gain.

Thanks,
Tracy

I have used 2N3819 with success.

That seems to be another TO-92 case item. Is it available in a surface
mount package anywhere that you know of?

Thanks

Dual-gate MOSFETs like the BF981 are widely available in SM. You could tie
the two gates together. You will probably have to modify the circuit,
though.

with the two gates together you get 3N128....
