DDS VFO

Hi
Has anyone had any experience of building / using a DDS VFO ? (I saw the
previous post from SP7EWL). I reserached the possibility of using a DDS VFO
in a home brew TX/RX I want to build, and would appreciate any comments.

I am particularly interested in the DDS VFO by SS Engineering, (N3SAD).

Comments ?

I hav a dds daughter card from the njqrp club
and the picel from amqrp.

they work together to make a dds vfo.

I looked at it on my hp 140T/8555 spectrum analizer
and I could not see any spurs on my analizer.
(not exactly the best combo for this job realy designed for microwave).

amqrp has the schmatics online at therir site.

Good Luck

I have built the DDS VFO2 with a few changes at:

Also plan to use it in a mixing type homebrew tranceiver i'm working
on. It has IF offsets, multi VFO, and many other nice features, best
one I've found so far. The IF offsets are set up for high side
injection, it wont do reverse tuning needed with low side injection. I
use a 100mhz SMT oscillator and disable the X6 multiplier in the
set-up menu. It works well up to about 35 mhz.

Good luck, VE3ELQ Nigel
