I finally gathered up my recent homebrew project photos and put them on
a single webpage to show off. You can see it here. Yeah, I'm kinda
proud...this is a great hobby.

You should be getting a grant, even more so than me. Many people get less
done all year at their job. You really are an impossible catagory of person

Congrats, it's great to know you.

Bill,

Where did you find the brass binding posts used on your batteries and some
of the sets? Making up some "refillable" B and C batteries is on my to do
list.

Your sets are beautiful, I sure wish I had those kind of woodworking skills.

Right? I'd vote for a MacArthur.

Bill, this is really a great collection of projects that is really what
radio was in the early days. It is an inspiration for all of us to do
more than just recap a radio to make it play. I have been collecting
part to do what you are doing some day when I retire. Maybe I shouldn't
wait for that since we never know what fate will bring us tomorrow.

Where do you get parts for those projects? (knobs, dials, etc.)

Eddie Brimer August 21st 05 01:58 PM

bill, do you make your own cabinets? nice work!

William E. Sabin August 21st 05 03:49 PM

No, they are made by Hammond Co. in Canada and purchased through the Newark
Catalog. They are excellent steel cabinets and quite heavy. I have made
some cabinets in the past, but nothing as nice as these.

Its easier than you think to make these little cabinets. My "woodshop"
consists of a clear area on the floor in the shack where I can sit and
do small-scale woodworking. Woodshop machinery includes a cheapo Black
and Decker sabre saw, and a cheapo Craftsman (or whatever lasts more
than 90 days) finishing sander. Recently I upgraded to a little
Micromark hobby-sized table saw and a small Skil belt sander for
convenience. Hey, who needs a good saw if you have a good belt sander?!?

I won't be making any kitchen cabinets or furniture with this setup
unless its for dollhouses!
