Default MFJ homebrew parts?

I notice in the new 2006 MFJ catalog there is listed several roller
inductors, turns counter and crank, among various sundry parts for
homebrewing. Their prices seem to be most resonable....wonder how good their
quality?

Haven't seen that catalog so I don't know what quality of parts MFJ
offers these days. But I can tell you that I've had to repair my
MFJ-949B tuner a couple of times over the years. The rotor of one of the
variable capacitors was making intermittent contact with the wiping
contact and needed fixing. The inductor switch is a cheap-looking pot
metal thing that had a couple of intermittent positions and I wound up
replacing it with a better switch. I wasn't impressed with the quality
of those components. I hope they're using better parts these days.
