Curtis 8044 keyer chip
I have been looking high and low for a Curtis 8044 (16 pin) Keyer chip. I

Thanks to everyone.. I called MFJ and they didn't have a replacement chip...
This is for a 422 keyer I bought off E-Bay Of course, it was suppose to be working .. But it had a blown keyer chip.. It's on it's way back for a refund.. shrug Yeah, I used the K-10 chip in a QRP rig a while ago. They have a nice product and it's small.. Actually I have the battery version of the K-12, (using a watch battery) mounted in a mouse that I use for QRP.. Talk about cool and easy to do!... Joe AG4QC "Larry Gagnon" wrote in message om... Joe AG4QC Well MFJ did not tell you the whole story (typical of them BTW) They do have the Curtis 8045ABM (28-pin chip) that can be adopted to the product. Some older 8044 chips (14-pin) do appear from time to time. gb |

I just pulled out an old keyed with that chip on it, I'm trying to fix it but if i can't give me a shout and an offer in a month or two ???

Michael When it is really the IC that is defective, and can no longer be obtained, it is probably easiest to use the housing and paddle to build a new keyer based on the Arduino Nano (K3NG keyer). |

Well, that Arduino keyer can do a lot more anyway. A friend nearby has built one and he can even connect a PC keyboard instead of the paddle, and it has memories etc. |

No, you're missing the point. Ten years ago, someone wanted to know where to get the IC. And there were suggestions, including buying from MFJ. The original poster likely is no longer interested, either giving up on the project or having found what he wanted. The guy who resurrected the thread is looking for a customer, he wants to sell his IC. SO he doesn't care about replacements, he's hoping someone will buy from him. Michael |
