rec.radio.broadcasting is open!
 

The Usenet newsgroup rec.radio.broadcasting is active and open for
business. While currently a low-traffic newsgroup, there is a team
of moderators actively monitoring the group. There is someone
available every day to review and approve posts.

The moderation team is currently working on a set of updated
guidelines, building on the work that the newsgroup's founder, Bill
Pfeiffer, did for many years until his untimely death.

In the years subsequent to Bill's death, many other forums for
discussing radio broadcasting have sprung up. Given the breadth and
depth of Internet applications available, this isn't a surprising
development. All these forums serve a purpose and can maintain a
healthy coexistence.

It should be noted that the only rec.radio.broadcasting is the
Usenet newsgroup of that name. The newsgroup is not affiliated with
any other newsgroup, mailing list, Yahoo! group, Google group,
message board, or other forum. Any claims to the contrary are not
true.

Any claims that rec.radio.broadcasting is no longer an active
newsgroup are not true.

The current moderation team volunteered to assume moderation duties
last year. The previous moderator agreed to transfer those duties
to the team, and that transfer has been approved by the Big 8
Moderation Board, and by Russ Allbery, who maintains the Usenet
newsgroup moderator submission forwarding aliases at isc.org.

Once again, an active team of moderators is overseeing rec.radio.broadcasting,
and all posts that are submitted are reviewed, usually within
a day of being submitted.

The moderation team hopes to have an updated set of posting
guidelines available soon, but don't let that stop you. If you have
something to say that's pertinent to radio broadcasting,
rec.radio.broadcasting is open for business and awaiting your
participation.
