Wireless Institute of Australia Merit Awards:

The WIA Board at its discretion makes awards to members for their
contribution to Amateur Radio. These are announced at WIA's Annual
Conference, to be held in May on Norfolk Island. The merit awards are
important recognition of the work done within the hobby. When completing A
nomination form the form, you are not required to suggest which award
should be made. The Board will assess each nomination, and decide which
awards, if any, it will make. To help, please include as much information
as you can. Try to keep it in some sort of chronological order. Include any
information about other awards the nominee may have received.

Beware Third Party Traffic:

The Amateur Radio Observation Service, in conjunction with the Emerging
Technology Coordination Committee, has noted a number of examples of UK
amateurs operating internet linked nodes that are carrying third party
traffic. They would like to draw attention to the requirement for an NoV to
the amateur's licence under these circumstances. Guidance for the use of
personal hotspots, crossband repeaters or other similar installations can
be found in Section 10 of the Amateur licence which is reproduced below
with the appropriate parts highlighted:
