/////////////////////////////////////////// Question (Help) Re Doublet Antenna Posted: 03 Mar 2017 02:18 AM PST http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thre...ntenna.557482/ Im looking for help please with building my first HF antenna.... Im going to fabricate a multiband doublet with 300Ohm ladder line. My FT-450D has a 7:1 internal tuner, so for now at least (until I can afford a balanced tuner), Im looking to place just a balun between the ladderline and some RG213 coax to the radio. However, most instructions say to use a 4:1 current balan, while two others say it needs a 2:1 item. Can anyone clarify which I actually need, and what the difference... This will be a a Cushcraft A50-5S Yagi, with a 2m/440 Ringo Ranger on top, and a rotator underneath. It will be mounted on the back of a garage, on the side (not on the roof). Ill run 2x6s across the peak as a support, and use something like these mounts - http://www.homedepot.com/p/3-in-Univ...9025/203763056 Here... The legs of the dual band vee would serve as top loading. Any feel for how well this would work?? My antenna options are limited due to carnivorous trees which snag any wire or cord that gets within 5 Feeleep KA4KOE /////////////////////////////////////////// Radio interfence Posted: 02 Mar 2017 09:54 AM PST http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thre...rfence.557513/ Hello to all, I have a problem. I have a 35 utility pole that I have both a dual band 2 meter antenna on top, and 2 below I have wireless internet radio. The dual band is a Tram 1481. The wireless internet antenna is a dish and radio style, and it is running on 2.4 ghz. Here is an image. This internet radio when plugged into my network router and I turn on my Kenwood TM 281a VHF radio, I get a high pitch hum. Both feed lines run side by side down the pole and into the shack. There are no... Radio interfence /////////////////////////////////////////// Best type of co-ax to bury sub-soil? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 06:08 AM PST http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thre...b-soil.556929/ I want to erect two beverage antennas, for reception on LF and one LF antenna for TX. What are the best types of co-ax to bury sub-soil and not deteriorate too much? Being LF might help keeps cost down, but the TX one would have to be co-ax able to handle a kilowatt or more. Runs would be 50 meters or so for the RX one and 100 meters or so for TX. Thanks. |
