Dear All

Now that we have completed two Foundation courses, with a third on the way,
the team thought it would be a great idea if we invite you all to a new
licence holder day at Barrule House, on the Ronaldsway Industrial Estate
this Saturday.

We plan to have a few transceivers setup, both in the building and in cars,
there will be an opportunity to have a practice on the air, and try out
some of the different options handheld, base or mobile, covering HF
through to UHF.

Also, we plan to have dummy loads available, so those of you who are a bit
nervous can limit your range to the building, should you wish to practice
among yourselves. If you’ve already bought some kit, then bring it along
and let us see, should you need help setting up, we would be delighted to
assist you. If youre having problems enrolling with Ofcom or applying for
your new callsign, we are here to help.

There will also be some SDR (Software Defined Radio) software and hardware
on show that you can try. Additionally, those of you who have passed the
practical and have their completed assessment sheets, can operate under the
Club callsign with supervision.

It would be great if you could come down and see us between 16:00 to 18:00
on Saturday 4th March, we’d love to see how youre all getting on.
