TWIAR News Feed /////////////////////////////////////////// How Does Starlink Work Anyway? Posted: 22 Feb 2020 01:00 PM PST http://bit.ly/37LCYDX No matter what you think of Elon Musk, it’s hard to deny that he takes the dictum “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” to heart. From hurling sports cars into orbit to solar-powered roof destroyers, there’s little that Mr. Musk can’t turn into a net positive for at least one of his many ventures, not to mention his image. Elon may have gotten in over his head, though. In July 2018, Motorola Solutions added a copyright-infringement complaint to the trade-secret theft lawsuit, alleging that Hytera unlawfully copied Motorola Solutions’ source code into Hytera products. /////////////////////////////////////////// AMSAT Declares End of Mission for Pioneer AO-85 CubeSat Posted: 22 Feb 2020 01:00 PM PST http://bit.ly/2SPJiWC AMSAT reports that the pioneering AMSAT-OSCAR 85 (AO-85) CubeSat, also known as Fox-1A, has gone silent. “Having not been heard throughout the most recent period of full illumination, it is reasonable to believe the batteries have deteriorated to the point of no longer being able to power the transmitter,” AMSAT said this week. “Should some future event cause a cell to open, it is possible the s... /////////////////////////////////////////// Coronavirus Outbreak Postpones Swains Island W8S DXpedition Posted: 22 Feb 2020 01:00 PM PST http://bit.ly/32hcMQq The W8S DXpedition to Swains Island in the Pacific, set to take place in mid-March, has been postponed until fall as a result of travel restrictions imposed on individuals entering American Samoa, stemming from the recent coronavirus outbreak.
