Looking for portable carrier Kenwood TM-D710A.

I am in search of a portable carrier that would turn the Kenwood TM-
D710A transceiver and it's control head into an easily carried single
unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Visit a camera shop.. They have cases for cameras that come in all sorts
of sizes you never thought of. Warning.. ventelation if you use the

John

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. What I was looking for is a metal base
that will hold both the main unit and the bracket for the control head
together as one piece. This would allow the use of the radio as a
single unit in multiple locations without needing to assemble and
disassemble the two parts. A huge plus would be if there were some
way of rapidly mounting and dismounting the whole assembly in vehicles
or transport cases.

In the old days... Radio Shack carried a "Quick Disconnect" for CB
radios, this was a slide in thing and matching bracket that had 4
contacts on it (power + Power - antenna and ground, though I do not
recommend using the antenna connections due to not being 50-52 ohm
through the connector)

Any body REAL body shop (not Collix or Macco but some 50+ year old guy
who remembers how to really do it) likely can cut a slab of metal to
size for you.. So can any metal supplier, The body shop can also custom
drill it
