Spring is coming and Im looking at portable/holiday style operations where
the Yaesu Ft-817 is a winner and it works fine both Vhf and Uhf/Ssb. This
rig does not have dual rx but it does a god job in split mode so, it would
seem the perfect transceiver to have fun in a satellite day as well as a
weekend or other kinds of outdoor operations.



The question: the Yaesu Ft-817 has only 5 watt (a respectable power to work
birds), but at this power level the battery life is very short so, my...

Right on schedule at 03:59 UTC on January 12, 2018, the solid-fueled first
stage and ground-lit strap on boosters of the Indian Space Research
Organisation (ISRO)’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle in its XL
configuration (PSLV-XL) ignited and hurtled AMSAT’s Fox-1D CubeSat along
