Oh, I think it will go much further than that. The case will be made
that the FCC could significantly simplify its administrative tasks by
(1) completely dropping most testing, (2) allowing only type-accepted
radio equipment on the bands (not just amplifiers), and (3) combining
the ARS, the FRS and the CRS into a unified hobbyist service.

first way to go for an Ontopic post

one you are right the FCC will likely eleimate more testing as it
closes down another license class or 2
but it seem unlikely that the fcc will ever try and get the genie back
into the bottle and try to enforce a rule on type acceptance of for the
ARS

three back to your whining about CB services give it up

I doubt it. That would just be being vindictive. If some hams want to
use CW, have at it, enjoy. Just pick a frequency consistent with band
plans and not in use.

The FCC likes hams, and most hams want the FCC to do their enforcement.
Hams, for the most part, are well behaved compared to most of the
other radio services. So the above will never happen.
