Fight the BPL

Remember the UPS-220-222 MHz fiasco? FCC granted UPS that frequency
range THEN UPS found it to be useless for their purposes. We still
didn't get it back. Hams in Calif had set up the Condor net covering
the state on 222 - all gone!

Incorrect. The Condor Net is still alive and functioning well...as of
5 July 2003. For particulars, go to -

www.condor-connection.org

Condor Net is a remarkable amateur radio privately-owned network that
is accessible by any licensed amateur...no dues or "membership"
required. It covers California, Nevada, and Arizona with a small part of
Utah included. 14 mountain-top stations on frequences from 223.84 to
224.90 MHz, all with emergency power capability.

All access and linkage is through CTCSS tone coding, as it was in
early 1978 when Harry Terraneau (WA6SXR?) demonstrated it for me in
Newbury Park, California.
